What
Is Hypnotherapy? |
|
| |
Hypnotherapy is a process of enabling or guiding you into a trance
state for a specific purpose. A trance state is an altered state of
consciousness between an awakened state and that of sleep. When you
are in an hypnotically induced trance you are able to interact with
the therapist and are capable of solving your problems, gaining different
perspectives and reprocessing childhood evaluations which, in the here
and now, cause limiting reactions and behaviours.
These limiting beliefs are often outside our conscious awareness and we often
justify our repeated patterns of behaviour by saying “that’s just
the way I am”. We may often think we should do something about it, but
feel we cannot. These patterns can go on for years and manifest themselves in
many different ways, from a sense of general unease, through to worry, anxiety,
panic, fear, dread, phobia, depression and so on.
Hypnotherapy is a collaboration between client and therapist. Working as a team,
I will be guiding you towards accessing your resources and capabilities that
can generate the necessary change within you, to move you towards the life you
want for yourself.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy uses the unique approach of Wordweaving, created by Trevor
Silvester, Training Director of the Quest Institute to ensure the therapy is
specifically aimed towards the unique needs of each individual. |
